Indica vs Sativa
Indica and Sativa are the two major types of cannabis. They are believed to have unique appearances and effects. Because of their different effects, marijuana sold in stores is often labelled as indica or sativa.
Many believe Cannabis indica and Cannabis sativa are different species. But due to a lack of research, there is some debate over the accuracy of this naming system. For example, some believe cannabis only has one species, with indica and sativa being subspecies instead.
Most cannabis varieties available today are not true sativas or indicas. These plants are called hybrids. Hybrids are the result of crossbreeding plants of different species.
In some cases, a hybrid may be more characteristic of one species than another. These plants are referred to as Indica-dominant or Sativa-dominant.
