CBD and Marijuana
CBD is one of many cannabinoids produced by the flowers of the cannabis plant. Although scientists have identified over 60 different cannabinoids in marijuana, CBD is present in relatively large amounts.
The concentration of CBD and THC varies greatly from strain to strain. While some strains of marijuana have equal ratios of THC and CBD, many varieties have been bred to maximize THC levels. Plants rich in THC tend to have low levels of CBD, and vice versa.
CBD-rich strains have become more available in recent years due to growing awareness of its medical properties.
